Community and growth are two very important values I hold closely. TEDx was a way that I could combine both of these while also incorporating many others.
One of the first TED talks that resonated with me was Brené Brown’s “The Power of Vulnerability”, which brought so much peace of mind through a really challenging time.
TED Talks has always been an inspiring platform that has continuously exposed me to captivating ideas. One that had a great impact on me during a recent period in my life, when I was somewhat confused and lost, was Bill Burnett’s TEDx talk called “Designing Your Life”. It really helped me gain clarity and focus my attention in the right direction.
As part of the team, creating the space to share ideas that stimulate growth and bring communities together is what’s most valuable to me.
I’m over the moon to be part of the wonderful TEDxSquareMile team help create an event that aims to spark questions, inspiration, and community. I discovered TED and TEDx many years ago and still happily spend hours listening or watching talks for inspiration and new ideas.
A talk that will always stay with me is “Why we all need to practise emotional first aid” by Guy Winch. Taking care of our emotions as much as we take care of our physical selves is hugely important, and this talk sparked that journey for me.
